Preeti Farmah, MD

Preeti Kodavanti Farmah, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist. She specializes in diagnosis and treatment of both benign (or non-cancerous) breast disease and breast cancer.

Dr. Farmah is passionate about providing compassionate, cutting-edge breast cancer treatment. She combines the latest advancements, such as targeted therapies and immunotherapies, with a personalized approach tailored to each patient. Her goal is to safely minimize the need for surgery and radiation whenever possible, while still achieving the best outcomes.

Dr. Farmah takes time to help patients learn about the biology of their cancer and the reasoning behind each treatment. "When people feel informed and empowered, they can face their diagnosis with greater confidence and peace of mind," she explains.

Dr. Farmah chose El Camino Health for its strong focus on women's health. It's rewarding for her to leave a meaningful impact on her community through the breast surgical oncology program. From the start, she felt connected to the team's collaborative culture and shared dedication to patient well-being.

Even when she's outside the clinic, Dr. Farmah stays curious about the latest oncology research. Her interests include health disparities, invasive lobular carcinoma and the de-escalation of axillary surgery techniques. As part of her global health efforts, she helped create a breast cancer database in Hawassa, Ethiopia, to improve care in low-resource areas.

Dr. Farmah has received many awards for her clinical work, education and research across health systems.

In her free time, Dr. Farmah enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new cuisines and hiking nature trails.
