Alyssa M Parian, MD

Alyssa Parian, M.D. has an expertise in the evaluation and management of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. In addition, she has expertise in the evaluation and management of patients who have undergone ileoanal pouch anastomosis (IPAA or J-pouch), patients with immunotherapy induced colitis, and patients with IBD who are currently pregnant. She most recently was an Associate Professor of Medicine and served as the Clinical Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Medical Director of GI Infusion Services at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She strives to provide the highest quality and cutting edge treatments and makes it a priority to share her knowledge and her vast experience with her patients.

Dr. Parian has held numerous academic roles, including Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins, Gastroenterology Director of Genes to Society at Johns Hopkins Medical School, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Advanced Fellowship Program Director at Johns Hopkins. In addition to Dr. Parian's vast clinical and academic experience, she has contributed to an extensive number of publications, talks, posters, and abstracts to medical literature, earned various academic honors and awards, and is a member of professional organizations including the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation where she has served on numerous committees to advance the care of IBD patients .
