Miller is Associate Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Medical University of South Carolina and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery. Dr. Miller received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Washington University in St. Louis and then completed the combined MD/PhD training program at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Miller completed his residency training in neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Washington University in St. Louis and St. Louis Children's Hospital. During his residency training, Dr. Miller travelled to Kijabe, Kenya to volunteer in a pediatric neurosurgery program for children with hydrocephalus and spina bifida.
Dr. Miller has been actively involved in neuroscience research and medical education throughout his career. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, regularly serves on research review panels, and has mentored numerous medical students who have pursued careers in neurosurgery.
Dr. Miller's research laboratory is focused on finding new treatments for neonatal brain injury and has received grants from the Hydrocephalus Association, Mission Connect Foundation and National Institutes of Health.
