George Book, MD

As both an internal medicine and psychiatry physician, I believe wellness comes from caring for the whole person - body, mind, and lifestyle. My passion is building lasting relationships with patients so that we can work together in your pursuit to prevent illness and promote healthier living. And being in the MDVIP model gives me the tools to better help you manage your chronic conditions. I strive to be approachable, attentive and proactive in helping you work to reach your health goals.





As a board-certified internal medicine doctor serving patients across Charleston, Johns Island and the Lowcountry, South Carolina, I provide personalized healthcare that helps address primary care needs while also supporting mental health, women's health, nutrition, sleep and hypertension concerns.





I work with MUSC Health and local hospitals to advocate for your care when needed. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting.
