He received a further year of subspecialty training exclusively in pediatric orthopaedics at Boston Children's Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Murphy is active in clinical research, and participates in several clinical trials regarding scoliosis. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Scoliosis Research Society and the Pediatric Spine Study Group.
