M. Jawad Latif, M.D., FACS, is a thoracic surgeon who is a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region. As a part of The Advanced Lung and Airway Center at JFK University Medical Center, Dr. Latif diagnoses and treats patients with both cancerous and non-cancerous disorders of the chest including lung, esophagus, mediastinum and diaphragm.
Dr. Latif completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with focused training in the surgical management of complex benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus. He then received advanced fellowship training in thoracic surgical oncology and robotic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Latif has previously held leadership roles in thoracic surgery at large health systems in New York and Maine. He will serve as site chief of thoracic surgery and regional chief of esophageal surgery for Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region.

Dr. Latif is so friendly and personable. All the staff are wonderful.
I was very happy with the doctor's care, with his patients, with the way he explained things. Office staff was very competent and I would certainly recommend them to other people.
Dr. Latif is very caring and takes time to answer all of our questions. He also gets us into office or procedure very quickly.
